French Vintage Corkscrew, Caisse d'Epargne Squirrel Logo 1970s, Chrome (C87)

This is a charming vintage handheld chrome corkscrew made for the Caisse d'Epargne bank in the 1970s. This particular squirrel design, in this format, was the brand logo for the French bank between 1968 - 1975. We have previously sold some cocktail sticks and bottle openers with the same design so this was probably part of a promotional range, perhaps as a collection of saving incentive gifts or promotions. Around the same time, children's accounts were promoted with a squirrel money box. (similar to our Natwest pigs). these chrome drinks accessories are now quite collectable and are becoming harder to find. This was bought at a French brocante fair and is in a good used condition with the usual pitting and marks of older chrome pieces. It would make a great gift for any collector of corkscrews or a lover of squirrels. All the items we sell are used or vintage and will show signs of a previous life.
