French 3mm Copper Pan and Lid with New Brand Tin Lining, 20cm, Paris Stamp (B15)

This is a lovely vintage French copper pan with a cast iron handle, chunky copper rivets and a lovely hammered style polished finish. This pan comes with a cover style lid, the traditional type of lids used for French copper pans. This copper pan will have been handmade and will be at least 80 years old, probably older. It is in a good used condition for its age as shown in the photos with some marks and pitting to the base, all signs of its previous life, probably in a French restaurant as it is a professional 3mm thick copper pan. This now has a new lease of life with its brand new tin lining to both the lid and pan. The new tin lining is traditionally applied using the age old hand wiping method. These would cost over £100.00 just to be re tinned. This pan weighs a hefty 3.3kg with a combined lid and pan weight of 4kg, it is a professional quality 3mm thick and was purchased at a traditional French brocante market as is all my stock. This lovely pan also has the J & E. Gaillard of Paris makers stamp on the side. This would be a stunning original example of handmade traditional French copperware, all the more appealing for a serious cook or chef with its new tin lining making it ready to use straight away.
